Dear Visitor,

in fall 2015 we proudly announce and recommend three new releases on our label ORIENTE. Listen and complete your CD collection! You won't regret.

RIENCD85   Kroke: CABARET OF DEATH - Music for a Film
"Cabaret of Death" is an unusual Kroke album, result of a cooperation with Polish film director Andrzej Celiński and his project that deals with the protagonists of entertainment culture in Nazi concentration camps. He asked KROKE to compose and record the film score.
Nevertheless, it’s not a soundtrack album. Kroke reworked and rearranged the music, added new pieces and recorded the entire stuff new. So we have a discrete creation which is connected to the film but also reflects KROKE’s very own examination of the topic, rather a meditative suite than a rigidly throughout composed album.

RIENCD87   Čači Vorba: ŠATRIKA
Čači Vorba’s new album proves their quality as highly distinguished musicians in Gypsy and Balkan music. The group serves a virtuoso fusion of Ethnic music, Roma swing, Romanian blues, Balkan pop and Mediterranean timbre, performed on traditional instruments and doing without electronic support.
Maria Natanson’s warm, focused voice, her natural ease in singing in many languages, and the transparent, varied musical arrangements are what make this music so unique. Natanson shows again her capability of bringing emotions into the music, wonderfully backed by her fellow musicians. You will hear them playing measured and furious, traditional and modern at the same time but always perfectly in balance. Another greatly produced and performed album, another evidence of a remarkable musical advance.

RIENCD89   Geoff Berner: We Are Going To Bremen To Be Musicians
Singer/songwriter/accordionist/novelist Geoff Berner’s music combines klezmer, punk, political satire and Balkan dance rhythms. He writes sharp, literate songs that can make you want to weep, laugh, grind your teeth, or kick out a window. Often all at the same time.
“We Are Going To Bremen To Be Musicians” is a compendium of strategies against despair - powerful cheering-up medicine that you don’t have to turn your brain off for.
The title is a reference to the old German folk tale about the Town Musicians of Bremen, an absurd tale of irrational hope and optimism in the face of horror, and that’s where the story connects with the songs on the album.
